line wire product

hello all, i wondering if you can all be fantastic n help again… i work for a manufacturer and an idea i have some marketing material is to try do a line / web drawing similar to the below

i know K/S has the toon tool but it does not do the line webing is there a way i can replicate these in KS does anyone know please?

Try using the wire frame shader - you can download it from keyshot cloud, the x-ray shader may give you what you want as well. Also create your own custom transparent shader, and apply a texture that is a grid pattern and scale it accordingly to get the desired effect you want. Then use the same image for the transparency, while making it slightly emissive. If you want to get really fancy don’t just do flat lines give them depth and then us a bump.

Not sure if that will get you what you want but just me thoughts.

As addition to Chevis’ suggestions. To have a bit more dynamic line colors or brightness (if you use emissive) you can for example play with the Curvature or Occlusion texture nodes and use them for example as opacity or emissive power masks.

The curvature node normally has white/pink/blue for the different curvatures but by changing those to white/black it’s a fun thing to get a les static image.

By default you’ve also some wireframe and Xray material nodes under the ‘Miscellaneous’ category which might work.

Thank you Chevis, I will give the wire frame shader you mention but the other idea with the emissive sounds brilliant but i am still relatively new to keyshot and getting my head around it all how would i create my own is there any tutorials on this please? I quite like the emissive stuff

Not really done yet. And this model I use has a really tight wireframe because it has so many polygons. If you want this to do with the spotlights for example you get a better result if you don’t re-tesselate them with too many polygons.

Another thing which helps a lot in the example image is the fact that those are quad-polygon models. So you don’t get the disturbing diagonal lines in every poly.

I think free software like Blender has also an option to change a model to quads. If you re-tesselate the spotlight to one with enough polygons to have a nice wireframe you can get rid of the diagonal edges by using Blender.

The X-Ray and Wireframe are also actual materials inside KeyShot but it’s a bit of a puzzle how you can use both in one go since they can’t be used as extra material label.

Thanks for the advice and the screen shot @oscar.rottink looks great, i will have to give it ago … following the above advice I did come up with this using the wire frame texture

I am now struggling to work out how can i make it more emissive to give that nice glow effect

I’ve uploaded my little try, it’s just one material. Depending on the model, just play around with the curvature and occlusion node. If you put them in solo mode with ‘B’ you can see how they will affect the mask.

I use those nodes to not have the entire wireframe very visible since that will make it look too much like every single CAD program.
